UKRAINIAN VISAS
Depending who you talk to, if you're a UK passport holder, you either need a visa to visit the Ukraine or you don't. I emailed the Ukrainian Embassy in Edinburgh and this was their answer:
"Dear Tony Pritchard,
We'd like to inform you that upon the issued Decree of the President of
Ukraine the citizens of the EU countries and Switzerland travelling to
Ukraine from the 1st of September, 2005 are not required a visa if person
will stay in Ukraine not more than 90 days.

Consulate General of Ukraine in Edinburgh"
So, perhaps everyone can update their websites - even the Guardian Travel one was incorrect!
